The Alberta government has reduced the size of the province’s Student Grant for Full-Time Students by one third, leaving some students worried about making up the shortfall.

The grant previously offered students between $100 and $375 a month, depending on their family’s income. In letters mailed out last week, students learned that it had been cut to $250 a month. The government also ended the graduated scale system, instead setting hard caps for what incomes qualify.
